Värmdö and Homa Bay

The first step for partnership between Värmdö, Sweden and Homa Bay Kenya started with an official delegation from Homa Bay visiting Värmdö in March 30 – April 6, 2008. Värmdö - Homa Bay is part of the five partnership programs (the other four in Uganda) which had its first official meeting in February. Due to the Kenyan post election crisis this program was delayed.
All five partnership programmers have the same foundation of the United Nations Rights of the Child and Sustainable Development (Agenda 21).
Globetree organized the first days of meeting for the Värmdö – Homa Bay delegation at the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions and the Children’s Ombudsman. After that the Homa Bay delegation continued to the Municipality of Värmdö.
The partnership program is financed by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities’ International Development Agency (SALA IDA).
