Study-tour in Sweden for two youth coordinators from Uganda
In the end of October Mr Kalyango Kintu Willington, Vice Chairman Kampala district youth council (KCC) and Ms Nakandi Lydia Ruth, female youth coordinator from Kampala, Uganda came to Sweden for a six days tour to schools and youth centers in Sweden. The tours was organized and hosted by Globetree. They also participated in Affect Conference - global and local lobbying. Globetree hosted a six day study tour for Kintu and Lydia to schools and youth councils in three City Districts of Stockholm and to the municipality of Borlänge and Falun.
Kintu and Lydia were appointed coordinators for the World Championship in Cooperation to be held in Kampala, Uganda year 2008 and several meetings were held to coordinate the planning of the two events 2006 and 2008.
Contacts were made with various Organizations concerned in Youth activities which can be of help for the youth in Uganda establish a local platform for entrepreneurship. Ideas how to develop ideas of involving young people in schools and out of schools in activities intended to keep the cities of Uganda clean.
