In September 2001 the Children’s Meeting Place was inaugurated at the grounds of United Nations, Nairobi. The Children’s Meeting Place is an area around an old Acacia Tree - a sacred place where children and the World’s leaders can meet and learn from one another. Under the Tree leaders of various organizations and Mayors of cities meet and interact with children on different occasions to discuss their concerns and to work out recommendations and future activities.
Special greetings came from the Secretary General, Kofi Annan, the Swedish Royal family, the Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson and many others…
