| Program Future Vessel | Report Nairobi schools | Värmdö rapport |
The first study tour to Kenya organized by Globetree took place the first week in May 2001.
25 children, youth and adults from 3 municipalities (Haninge, Kalmar and Värmdö) of Sweden visited the United Nations, child centers in the slum areas of Nairobi, deaf and blind children, street children and private schools. All joined in the first Future Vessel Event on the grounds of Bomas of Kenya. It became a very special meeting place where all children expressed their visions and dreams for the future with the help of materials found in the trees, on the ground and what was brought from Sweden.
- How can we create a meeting place between children and decision makers at the United Nations?
The question was discussed in many meetings and also at the Swedish Embassy where the Ambassador Ms Inga Björk-Klevby promised to help as much as she can.
The Study Tour ended with a safari to Maasai Mara National Park.
