Invitation to The Children's Water Way
21 - 26 August 2005
It is a great pleasure for the Globetree in cooperation with SIWI (Stockholm International Water Institute) to invite you as a participant at The Children's Water Way in conjunction with the Stockholm Water Symposium, Stockholm Water Week. “Without water we have no life on earth”, the children declared at the Stockholm Concert Hall 1986 which was the first international Future Meeting organized by Globetree. Since then, water has been at heart of all Globetree projects and programs all over the world. Many still remember when 300 children took the main stage at the Second World Water Forum and Ministerial Conference in The Hague 2000 and the water ceremony at the Water Dome at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg 2002. All over the world young and old find solutions to problems - initiatives that usually don't find its way to the media. Globetree invites you to share your ideas of the water close to you – or for the whole world! Find your own creative means and ways to present your visions and ideas! Maybe you can make a three dimensional landscape which shows your water situation and your suggestions how to solve problems. You can use any material you like for your presentation. At the Children's Water Way you will work together with others who bring their water landscapes. At the Stockholm Water Week you will meet experts on water from all over the world and you will get the opportunity to show and discuss your dreams and ideas with them! Maybe you have ideas which need a superman to come true! Maybe you also have songs, poems, stories, drama, puppet plays or music which tells about water. August, 24 in the afternoon, you will also get the opportunity to meet and dialogue with Mayors who have special interest in listening and learning from children. The dialogue will take place in the water landscapes and on the main stage. Children's Water Way will be the kick off for the next Globetree event: The World Championship in Cooperation, May/June 2006. The Millennium Development Goals, The Rights of the Child and the Agenda 21 are the base of the Children Water Ways as well as of the World Championship in Cooperation. The goal is to find ways how to transform the contents into practical actions. We all look forward to meet you at the Children's Water Way! Stockholm, July 2005 Kajsa Dahlström |
