Since then, children and adults from more than fifty countries have joined the Globetree to develop and expand its vision and work. The assignment is to seek different ways to meet children’s questions about their future. The work is to involve every country in the world in finding implementation of the two UN-documents – The Rights of the Child and Agenda 21. In this process the Globetree cooperates with children, students, teachers, artists, scientists, politicians, journalists, cosmonauts, astronauts, companies, governments, institutions, NGOs and others. A large international network has been developed which is the base of the Globetree. The Globetree initiates and supports local, national and international initiatives in and between schools, organizations and companies in Sweden and other countries of the world. Projects samples Children’s Ecological Park, Tatui - Brazil Sustainable small farming, hands-on environmental education and empowerment. Creativity/Lifestyle/Environment-Indonesia Pupils and teachers of secondary school seek creative solutions to improve urban environment. Sangar Pari Purna, Art Center, Bona, Bali A meeting-place to develope communication through village art aimed at young unemployed artists and youth. The Children’s Garden, Nairobi, Kenya Children from four slum areas of Nairobi are invited to a green garden to learn about the living environment. Programs samples [1990 - 1996] Future Meetings - Children and youth meet teachers, artists, scientists to dialogue questions concerning our common future. [1990 - ] Our Uniting Water Ceremony - Children unite water from all over the world. The ceremony has been presented at numerous international meetings. [1990 - 1996] Blue Wave - encouraging children to work for water, environment and society. [1996 - 2007] Future Vessel - Implication of The Child’s Rights and Agenda 21 through local and international network. Innovative creations by children to give life into the two UN-documents. |
