Subject:      Living Machines in Canada
From:   Michael Shaw <Michael_Shaw@TOGETHER.ORG>

Dear Paul Sinclair Stewart,

We have built two Living Machines for the Body Shop.  The one in Canada treats the sewage from the building which is re-used in the toilets.  It was built in 1992.

It is located at:
33 Kern Road, Don Mills, Ontario M3B 1S9 Tel 416 441 4189
The contact is Sean Quinn (ext 234).

I believe the LM is working well.  It has a small polishing marsh in the greenhouse.   I have not seen any recent data.  When we tested some years ago the water chemistry was BOD< 10 mg/l, TSS<10 mg/l and a good pathogen count.

Metro Toronto has allowed re-use in the building.  This aspect was handled by Greg Allen.

The other LM treats the production waste water in the main UK production facility at Littlehampton.
