Subject:      heavy metals & cryptosporidium
From:   Todd Callaghan <tcallag@HOTMAIL.COM>

John,
I have two  questions regarding the removal of contaminants from wastewater.

1) When wastewater contains heavy metals, how are these reclaimed? Do the plants used in the treatment process concentrate such high levels of toxic metals as to pose disposal problems?

2)"Living machine" designs appear to greatly reduce coliform levels during the treatment process, but what effect do they have on cryptosporidium levels? Do you employ additional technologies (i.e., uv radiation or ozone bubbling) to help remove cryptosporidium?
