I see the major factors affecting biogas production as temperature, retention time, organic loading rate and to some extent C:N ratio (see earlier discussion)- assuming that no inhibitory substances are present.  The combination of retention time and temperature also affect pathogen survival but I have very little data on this area as yet.

I have set up an EXCEL model for a Continuous Flow Stirred Tank digester which may help anyone interested in looking at how temperature, retention time and VS interact - please e-mail paul.harris@adelaide.edu.au direct if you want a copy (do not reply to the list).
