Children's Meeting Place - United Nations UNON,
Nairobi, Kenya

The very first Children's Meeting Place of the world is a Tree situated on the grounds of United Nations. The Tree is an Acacia Xanthopholea of the Mimosaceae family, known in English as the Fever Tree.
We call this tree The Mother Tree of the Children's Meeting Place.
The Mother Tree, how can we honor this important tree for the children of the world?
How can we develop a program for the future?

There has been two Preparatory Roots Meeting during 2003, to develop Children’s Meeting Places in close connections with the City Halls. The direct link between children/youth and decision makers will inspire the young to look for solutions and the local government will get new and innovative ideas to implement The Rights of the Child and the Agenda 21 and bring the content into action.

At the International Roots Meeting in November 2004, there will also be a report back to the Mother Tree on what has happened.
