Ndekero Challenge:

The Ndekero Challenge is an approach for business partnership  between the rural community of Ndekero village and the Nazareth Sisters so that families can generate income and gain employment at the rabbit colony farm.

The goals are
(i) to help parents with children at Our Lady of Annunciation Primary School
(ii) to improve income opportunties of the local community in Ndekero Village
(iii) to provide a cheap source of meat

Ndekero Challenge is a component of an Integrated farming system for rabbit and fish production at the Ndekero farm of the Nazareth Sisters.

The Ndekero Challenge was the Winning Project Idea that was awarded 20,000 US$ as the Grand Prize in the Africa Rural Connect Contest ((Dec 2009 organized by  the National Peace Corps Association. USA.
