Muthambi Girls High School, Marima

A boarding school for about 700 girls on 25 acres of land (15 for infrastructure and campus grounds and 10 acres for farm activities). Serves meat once a week and requires 75 kg of beef (purchased at 180 KES/kg) each time. A well managed school and accommodating payment of fees in the form of cows and pigs. Cows provide milk and the sale of calves and pigs provide income/food to the boarders. For parents who are unable to pay fees, they can contribute in kind as labour. The school has one hired farm worker who is the farm manager.
