Tree Planting at KWWPC - 2008

Eucalyptus seedlings

The aim of the Tree Planting Campaign 2008 is to plant trees along the borders of KWWPC.

RESOURCES AVAILABLE AND ACTIVITIES COMPLETED
* 50,000 tree seedlings donated by Entebbe Women Association
* Transport of tree seedlings to KWWPC and planting of trees to be coordinated by LVRLAC and EWA
* Trees already planted along the East border of KWWPC by Mayor of Kampala and Kampala City Council

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
* transport and refreshments for children who will help to plant trees
* Identification of special trees for nesting and resting of Ugandan birds
* Identification of special plant seedlings that can provide food for Ugandan birds and animals
 

(i) Transport and Refreshments for Children
A target group of volunteers for planting seedlings is school children. For schools that dont have their own school bus, KWWPC needs to cover the costs of transport. Refreshments for the children will also be most welcomed.

(ii) KWWPC need information on the types of trees that are preferred by Ugandan birds for nesting/resting and on trees/plants that can provide food for Ugandan birds and animals.
