Wastewater treatment project with Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm) and Globetree (Oct-Dec 2007)

M.Sc. students Jenny and Hanna from the Department of Biotechnology set up a "research" tank system to demonstrate the use of plants to clean dirty water from a polluted river. A solar panel charges a car battery which runs an aquarium aerator that aerates the dirty river water. This water is then transferred into a series of 30 litre containers with plants in them. The last tank has water cleaned. The system was set-up with the help of Jacky Foo.
